Hello, I heard your music on Rhapsody-Real Player while trying
to find some music from Finland as a way to feel connected to my
heritage.
I'm American, but my grandparents made sure I knew were "we" came
from. Although I don't speak Swedish or Finnish, the music is
incredibly beautiful! I just thought you should know someone
in Kalama, Washington thinks you guys are great! Have a Super
Day /Lillie

GJALLARHORN !! This is a message from a french "fan". I first heard your
music during a tea ceremonial in a Medieval tent in the French mountains.
It sounded really great. It was brought to us by a great friend passionned
by medieval médecin
and herbalism. I would like to thank you for this wonderful music which
made me see life more sofetly on that evening and on all the evenings when
I listen
to it. Thanks a lot and please continue. :-) -Edouard

I heard a sample of your music on Link-TV. It took me a while, but I finally
found out who was responsible for that wonderful music. Consider me a fan!
Thank you for the music!
-Peter
Well, I don't know if I'm your only fan from Quebec, Canada, but as much
as I dream of Scandinavia, you guys make my dream way more colorful. First
thing I do when I step in Northern Europe is see if there's a way to see
you play somewhere, and it's still nothing compared to what you give me.
Thank you! -Mac

over and over again. keep up the good work gjallarhorn! and please come (back)

I found you music on the net by "mistake"...
I was surching for new stuff with Wimme Sari on amazon.com, and there you came up as a surgestion for north folk music.
I am still paralyzed by Jenny´s voice, and way of playing your instrument....
I do hope you will visit Danmark very soon.
De bedste hilsner fra Torben Danner Olsen - Danmark.
Bonjour!
There doesn't seem to be any French fan in this guest book. I had to do
something about it. I discovered your first album Ranarop a week ago, and
i think I
know it almost by heart already! I am just totally transported by the music
and
the texts. Thanks for the translations. I am so drawn to the Vikings' culture
and to other languages. The song in Finnish is just fascinating ("löyetiihin tuonen toukka").
By your orchestration, you could really emphasize the strangeness of this
very mysterious language (not to mention the runic aspect of it...). I
can't wait
to get your other cds...
Tak tak tak!!
-Yann
HI Really great music, iv´e just found your site on a searc for old age danish folk music and hva just downloaded a few samples from your site, really nice i enjoyed it a lot. The video on your site named "Suvetar" wich

i am really reallt glad i found you! Its so amazing. Everyone i know cant

I have one question, well, its not sure you are gonna answer it, but ind the
video to Suvetar, aint that about the 5 elements? Or am i totally wrong?
;P He, no matter what I JUST LOVE YOUR MUSIC!!
Really, i do! It says so much to me! Well, i dont understand your language in
the song, but still, its like its talking to me. Deep inside

How can I express how much I love 'Ranarop'? Haunting vocals and music....Words
fail me! Music for the soul.....thank you. Any chance of you playing in Australia
e.g. WOMAD in Adelaide in 2005? -Graham in Adelaide
I discovered your CD Sjofn at the local library and fell in love. It speaks
powerfully to my Sami heritage and Celtic spirit. I live in the US and would
love love love to have you here for a concert. If I can help set up a folk
concert series let me know! Blessed be, Clea

Hey, I first heard your music on an airplane from Florida to Illinois. It
was a programme called Nordic Dreams or something. I liked your one song
so much that when I arrived in Chicago the next day I went out and bought
Ranarop. I've bought Grimborg since then. Just looking for Sjofn. Thanks
for your hard work! -Miller

You are doing such a marvelous music, guys!!! Makes me remember
somehow of Dead can Dance, but it's something original however. Jag var
så glad när jag upptäckte er musik, it puts good vibrations in my heart.
Please don't stop !
Frankrike. Kyss från Paris. Ha det bra -Bobby
Hi!My name´s George, i´m brazilian from São Paulo and i love this mix between aboriginal instrumental Digderidoo with scandinavian songs!
I hoppe that Gjallarhorn will come to Brazil soon! Värtinnä went to São
Paulo couple of years ago and Gjallarhorn?:-) Bye
Absolutely love your music :)
Stop somewhere in Norway during 2004!!!
-Georg
Hi!
When you'll come to play in Italy?
Your music is fantastic!
Some songs remember to me atmospheres of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.
-Fortarrigo, an Italian fan
discovered your music through WorldLink TV's video show; they showed the
video for "Suvetar" and I was bespelled. got "Grimborg" for Christmas and
was further enchanted; now searching for Sjofn and hopefully the first
album as well. If
you ever, ever come to Louisiana (not likely, but still) I will be there
in front of the ticket line. Keep making wonderful sounds! -Lauren
I keep listening to Sjofn over and over...have a strange desire to learn
Norse languages...I would say I have Gjallarhornmania, but is that a word?
-Lauren
A really big compliment for your nice site- keep up the good work!
-Diana
OMG.... Sara gone :'(
Well, I wish here all the best and welcomes Peter...
He has to do a hell of a job ;-) -Cookie
I've always been a "folkie". Getting to the know the scandinavian
folkscene over the last ten to twelve years has been very exciting. Groups
like Filarfolket, Värttina, Hedningarna, etc., etc. have made brilliant
music. Your Gjallarhorn is one fine addition to this new scandic tradition.
I can listen to all of your 3 albums at home, but, being able to listen
to your music live must be an even greater experience. I hope you will
come the
Netherlands once more, because until now I have not been able to visit
any of your concerts here.
Bedankt voor jullie prachtige muziek !!!
Vrank Prins, Haarlem, Nederland
Greetings to you from Berlin and i hope, you will play here one day too.
I really enjoy your music.
-MasterEmit
Huhhuh! Loistavat nettisivut! Teette musiikillanne elämän helpommaksi...
Kiitos. -NR-
Being fans of folk/folkpop bands like Altan (from Ireland) en Capercaillie
(from Scotland), and with Scandinavia having been our holiday destination
for the past three years, we were very interested to read about a certain
Finnish band called Gjallarhorn coming to Groningen (NL), where we live.
So we decided to check it out... Thank you very much for the great performance!
We have added you to the top region of our favourites list. Please come back
to Groningen soon! -Janine
Hi,
We've really enjoyed your concert yesterday evening in Tilburg, Netherlands.
And it was nice meeting you after the show. Maybe you'll once see our
band on stage!?
I wish all of you the very best.
Greetings from Inner Strength,

Wow, beautiful, awesome music! I ordered the CD "Sjofn" and can´t stop hearing it! *g*
Unbeschreiblich schön!
Greets from Germany,

This is the first time that I hear about you and listened a few
songs and really you make incredible sounds. I'm from Chile, south america
and I like folk music from europe, please if some day you go to south
america, come to Chile. Congratulation!!!!! -Nicole
Greetings, up to today you were a 'heard of' band. Now another
reason for me to try and learn a Scandinavian language, darn annoying
to try and follow the lyrics without knowing it ;)
- Rogier (the famed spearman), Holland
It is September 20th and I've just finished the after concert
didg workshop with Tommy. I then hung around and listen to jenny

This was definitely my musical highlight for this year. Thank

soon. -Curtis Hammond, Minneapolis, Minnesota
Nice!!! Come down to India some time!

Hi to all of you. "O-vals" appeared on my radio today and I

hello!
are you planning to play in sweden?
i love your music very much!! -Emelie
You were already one of my favorite band. Now, my newborn baby
Félix-Antoine is also listening to your music and enjoys it a lot. I even
use "suvetar" as a lullaby when he is not calm...
He, like is father, is brought to nirvana by the angelic voice of Jenny and
the awesome atmosphere that the band can create.
Salutations du Québec! -Jean-François
I love your music...but where are the lyrics? I'd really like to
be able to sing along! -Thomas
Awesome, awesome, awesome! All of your tracks and videos are great! Suvetar
is truly an awesome video! I also enjoyed Konungadöttrarna a lot; although I cannot understand Swedish well! Jeg forstår litt svensk... (og jeg sier det på norsk;
^_^ lol) Jag kan tala litt svenska...? Perhaps one of you could e-mail
me and explain the lyrics of the two songs! Also, have you ever published
any songs
in Finnish? --- Fantastic! I hope I get to see you guys in person someday!

Thanks! -Kirsi
Had the pleasure of seeing you in Nijmegen, The Netherlands on 28th of November.
I was really impressed! What excellent musicianship! Hope you will be around
for a long time. -Peter
I saw your performance yesterday in Doornroosje (Nijmegen, Holland)
and was quite impressed by the visionable music you make, combined with the
strong vocals that allow you to actually see where the music comes from,
what it means and what it tells. Even though I don't speak any scandanavian
language, I felt the pictures you sang and played quite clearly. A most
fascinating prestation. I have interested myself in things like that and
wrote a story about it. If you are interested, you can read it on
http://elfwood.lysator.liu.se/libr/s/a/sander_s/mnemosynes_music.htm.html

Very beautiful website, and wonderful music! Love from Scotland -Petit Scarabee
I can't wait to see gjallarhorn when they visit Belgium. -Willy
Hej! I live in Montreal (Canada) and I've been a fan of yours since 1998.
I listen to a lot of folk music and I never found a band more talented
and dynamic
than Gjallarhorn. Jenny works wonders with her voice. In my ears she makes
Björk sound like an amateur! All those backing vocals and reverbs, whispers and herding calls are just incredible. I've been telling everybody about Gjallarhorn for almost five years... think you could make it to the Québec
Summer Festival? Just wishing out loud, I know ;p -Fred
I LOVE the music. I've been sharing it with all my friends. Come to Virginia
and play for us sometime! -Veronica (VA,USA)
great site - greetings from vienna !

I'll be there with the rest of our band. You've been a great inspiration
to me... Good luck with everything! -Kelly, Inner Strength
saw an enchanting sublime concert of yours last september in some abandoned
warehouse in riga - and a some jamming in a smokey latvian bar - hope to
rekindle some of these emotions in december when you will come to my hometown
Hasselt (that's in Belgium): welkom! -Anneleen

We are waiting "gjallarhorn" in Russia!!!
When you will be at us ???
(Hello from Russia) -Duhovetsky
Hi, my name is Marijn, and I was on Dranouter where I saw your wonderfull
performance. After the play, i met tommy, and I gave him a blue plastic bag.

thanx again, and good luck!! cheers -Marijn
kontakter. Frid! -Alar Kuutmann
What can I say? Kaunis misiikki!!! Hei hei! -Mikael (Poland)
Hello, My husband and I saw your performace at the Sierra Nevada World
Music Festival in Angels Camp, California, USA. It was a real priviledge

I'm going to Finnfest in Minneapolis in August 2002 and can't wait to see
the band in concert! I love your music! See you there! - Ron in Pennsylvania,
USA
Everyday I'm discovering something new, though it's many hundred years
old. Well that there was a band from Finland who had pretty old Icelandic
word
for a "Loudspeaker" (Gjallarhorn) wich we very seldom use any longer. Well and then that female name Sjöfn, that's an pretty common name here in Iceland as well, but the meaning of it I didn't have a clue on. Well and then the 3rd thing, and that is your music is very "in" today,
and as well pretty nice and intresting to listen to. -Gudmundur
¡Me encanta! A ver si volvéis por aquí a dar otro concierto.
Muchos saludos desde España. -José
Hello, I'm Anira one of the many faces among the people in Portugal in "XIII Cantigas do Maio-Seixal",
where I first heard your magnificent, unspeakable music and presence...thank
you very much for that ephemeral beautifully moments, and for comming.

The Music is Haunting! It maybe 102 degrees Faraheit outside & I'm stuck
in traffic, but listeninging to the music makes even a Los Angeles commute
worth
it. Jenny is a Disir of Music. -Sven
Hej! my friends at the bodhran lessons told me about you, got

secrets of circular breathing, learning to play didge and it seems
impossible for me yet!!. Keep up the good work!!!. Best regards. -Óscar,
Madrid, Spain.

Dear Gjallarhorn, my family and I are completely faszinated of your magical
mistery music. Especially our children (Amina 8, Ytene 6, Maolinn 3,5)

voice.

you on your future tour in France.
Thanks. -Mélanie

Dear Gjallarhorn, Finally I was able to buy your cd's. I've seen you "by accident" on
the Roskilde festival. By that time you where selling the cd after the
concert but I didn't bought it. When I was home back in holland I wanted

your fan from nürnberg. -Tea
Saw you in 'The Arches' in Glasgow, January 2002, when the BBC filmed there.
Together with La Bottine Souriante, you were certainly the highlight of the
Celtic Connections Festival. Very impressive. Unfortunately, the BBC only
aired it on BBC Knowledge, a digital channel. Now lets see if I can buy this
CD of yours .... also to let the Finns and Swedes at work know about it.
-Arno, Scotland
-Karl
You incredibly impressed me at WDR Weltmusikfestival 2001 the saturday before.
It's great how you manage to combine ancient chants with modern style. and
as an amateur didge player Tommy's performance especially hooked me. I wonder
if you're going to play again in germany, soon?
Hope the curry was fine :-) -Peter
i'seen you last sunday in Tatihou(France), congretulations for your work

your fan from nürnberg. -Tea
Hello Adrian, David, Jenny, Martin and Tommy, We had promised to see you
again. We have do it in Châlon-en-Champagne where we go from Brussels especially for your concert. But this time we had the opportunity to see you with our daughter Jocelyne (you remember certainly a little black girl from indian origin, eleven year old).
Jocelyne asks us to write you that she likes very much your music that she there life discovered.
You communicate us a so beautiful music that we want to encourage you in your hight quality artistic work. And in order to communicate this we can applaud you, we can cry our emotion. Yes, we can buy your CD, and of course we do it ( it is a very nice present). We can also talk with you after the concert but we don’t speak good English : I (Michel) was glad to speak a very little bit in French with Martin and few words in English with Jenny but it was not enough to answer correctly to what you said us.
But here at home, Mister Dictionnary help us!
Once more, your spectacle was fantastic, an extreme pleasure. The Sint-Alpin church was certainly a very adapted decor. But this is not so important. It is very difficult for a decor (for a human too) to resist to your notes. What was very interesting is the fact that you was physically near the public. It was certainly OK in Brussels but in Châlon,
the proximity gives a better communion.
We hope you come again in Belgium and that we receive so the possibility
to lead our friends to one of your future concerts.
Long life to Gjallarhorn!
-Jocelyne, Dominique and Michel, Brussels, Belgium
Blessings and Joys be yours in The
Great Goddess. -Sabrina

I've seen Your performance in Kulturinsel Einsiedel in Germany at the Folklorum
and I felt like in trance, when I heard Your music. It was like being in
annother world at another time. May You have a great future with Your music.
-Michael
Ojalá volváis pronto a España
y pueda ir a vuestro concierto. Saludos. -Maria Jesus M.
Great Band! Greetings from Arndt Beckmann percussionist of Karadara (Festival

Hi, I heard your CD at a friend of mine (and just ordered it over the Internet).
I like the way you use the didge in your music. I hope we learn to do this
as well with our band InnerStrength :-) Sorry to have missed you in
Eindhoven, but I hope to see you soon when you're back in the Netherlands.
-Cheers, Roland

You have done the impossible - remained true to the spirit
of your heritage, let it evolve without losing the essence
and are commercially successful! Well done!!
It was truly wonderful to meet you at the Sesiwn Fawr in
Dolgellau and I hope you enjoyed the rest of your day in
Mid Wales. May you continue to speak to people's hearts
all over the world and awaken their souls to the treasures the
modern world has turned its back on. -Ramsey, Wales
Thanks to the members of Gjallarhorn for their existence. The album of Sjofn
is a big surprise to me. Extremely creative, cheerful music with very interesting
arrangements. Also the CD cover is amazing. And I won't be the first one
to say that Jenny looks very nice... :-) Good luck, guys, see you at Folkwoods
in the Netherlands. -Kelly, Inner Strength
Saw you in Nuremberg yesterday - quite an experience I must say !
Thrilling lyrical music that captures the spirit of various worlds and ages.
Thanx a lot - and try to stop by in Germany more often !! -C.J. Ganter
Hello Gjallarhorn! We saw you on the Folk-Festival in Bad Wildungen, Germany,
and afterwards, tried to get your latest album, sjofn. We wish you good luck
and I'm sure that there is a great future for all of you!!! -F.
I just heard, "Come Holy Spirit" from SJOFN on the CBC program, Weekender
(July 29, 2001). Thank-you. I had no idea what the words or the piece was
when it started playing, but felt the urge to spin like a Dervish. There
is
an extraordinary evocative quality to this piece. The voice of the Beloved
radiates through it evoking deepest longings in the heart. BRAVO!
P.S. If you have not read Rumi's poetry you must. It is dying of a need to
find expression in music that is universally accessible. Your group has
the voice to stir awareness of that ineffability. -- Nick Fulford
Quelle fantastique découverte musicale en life!
I was at show in Strasbourg last week-end... And I must to say that i loved

Thank you so much for this great time. - Mystou, one of your biggest fan

Une musique à se rendre amoureux. Mais elle est trop rare en france! -

Mark Dalton calling from Seattle, USA... I LOVE Sjofn, and it has been playing
every night at our house for WEEKS! Thank you all for such a wonderful way
to bring in Spring, 2001! Best wishes, and please come to Seattle and play
for us soon! -Mark
I have discovered Gjallarhorn completely by chance, my eye being caught
by the cover of Sjofn... and I bought it without even having listened to
it
once, without knowing what it sounded like. The mention "recommandé par
TradMag" was sufficient. I came home and listened... and was totally
enthralled! I have to admit I have fallen in love with Suvetar and Su Ru
Ruskadirej, which transport me to a realm of pure trance. I can only
encourage you to keep on with your fantastic music and I hope I will see
you at Saint Chartier or in Strasbourg in July. May the Goddess watch over
you,
-Falreg.

G'day! Just wanted to tell you guys that your music is a
very-much-needed breath of fresh and cool air here in Seattle. I'm very glad

music an equally-much-needed boot to the head. Long Live Gjallarhorn! -Steve

och Sofie
Thank you for your songs at Roskilde 2000. -Fasadeulven
Mainiota. Elävä esitystapa miellyttää (ottaen huomioon millä museomentaliteetilla olen Suomessa kuullut usein folk-kamaa esitettävän). Ainoa live Keskiajan Karnevaaleilla '98; lauantai-illan keikka Tulikansan kera hieno. Uusi levy tosin tsekaamatta, ensimmäinen
loistava. -Kim arvostaa
Absoultely marvellous performance at Roskilde. I'm very impressed and you
made me feel, like I was back in The Old Finland. Please let me know if merchandise
is available ( like the nice tight yellow t-shirt ). All the best; -Joe,

-Marcus

I've been looking for joiks and other Norse/scandinavian music
for a long time and ive finally found the Music that reaches my soul.
I may not be scandanavian, I'm a texan, but i'm sure that an ancestor
in scotland or ireland was at least part scandinavian. thanks for
reaching out with your music and moving me so. -Bret Kelly
I saw you for the first time in Jakobstad recently and it was truly impressed

No terve terve Gjallarhornin väki. Olettekos Kaustisille menossa?
koittaessa? -jaakko olkinuora
